Larry Tritle, PhD., Professor Emeritus at Loyola Marymount University, and a Vietnam Veteran, recently discussed his new book The Many Faces of War with Joe Esteves, examining war and its emotional and psychological effects from ancient Greece to present day Afghanistan.
Dr. Tritle is also the technical consultant for an upcoming true Roman Epic feature film (2025), Theban Legion, about the famous decimation of St. Maurice and his men in 286 AD under Co-Emperor Maximian. An authority on ancient and modern warfare, Dr. Tritle is author of the authoritative Oxford Handbook on War In The Classical Era as well as the introspective From Melos to My Lai which studies a soldier's experience from the Peloponnesian War to Vietnam.
